Bulandshahr violence was a conspiracy: UP police chief

Bulandshahr: Uttar Pradesh police chief OP Singh stated that the force sniffs a “conspiracy” behind Monday’s clashes in Bulandshahr between a mob and the police. The mob which fought pitched battles with the police in Siana, in Bulandshahr, set vehicles ablaze, hurled stones, leaving inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and a youth injured.

Om Prakash Singh, the Director General of Police in Uttar Pradesh, told that the force was investigating why cow carcasses were found three days before the anniversary of the Babri Masjid’s demolition. He said they were looking at all angles whether this was an attempt to vitiate the atmosphere ahead of the demolition anniversary.

He said lakhs of people were present at the venue of ‘Tablighi Ijtema’ which was about 40 km from the spot when the violence broke out.

India Today reported that the state police chief said he directed officials to conduct a thorough probe in the incident, and instructed them to take stringent action against people involved in cow slaughter.
