Hyderabad, March 01: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee was “pro-poor, pro-farmer and pro-reforms.”
Mukherjee has done “what is possible under the circumstances” to all sections of people right from farmers to tax payers and senior citizens,” he said.
The Chief Minister expressed happiness that the country was on high economic growth path and the GDP increased to 8.2 per cent compared to 7.3 per cent previous year and overall economic growth rate in the current year was 8.6 per cent.
He also welcomed allotment of Rs 500 crore for women SHGs Development Fund, Rs 300 crore for weavers and increase in credit flow from Rs 3.75 lakh crore to Rs 4.75 lakh crore.
The Congress leader said continuation of interest subvention for farmers and more outlay for storage and cold chain for vegetables would do good for Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also welcomed the announcement that National Food Security Bill would be introduced next year.
