Budget ignores interest of Bihar: Shatrughan

Patna, July 06: Describing the union budget as “direction less”, actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha today said it has totally ignored Bihar as well as the welfare of the common man.

“Despite Congress professing that it represents the ‘aam admi’, the budget presented by Union Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee has totally ignored the welfare of the common man,” Sinha told PTI over phone from UAE.

“The budget is silent on demand about special status for Bihar, an issue raised by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and supported by many Congress leaders before May 16, the day of counting,” the BJP MP from Patna Saheb said.

Sinha said vital areas of interest of common man like drinking water has been ignored while emphasis has been given on luxury items like cars, jewellery and mobile phones.

He criticised Mukherjee for not allocating fund for rehabilitation of people affected by last year’s Kosi floods.
