Lucknow, September 21: The Samajwadi Party (SP) today alleged that the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh, in nexus with the BJP, was creating ‘terror’ in the name of the Ayodhya title suit verdict.
The party also said it will accept the Allahabad High Court’s verdict in the case.
It strongly objected the checking drive started at the mosques and ‘imambaras’ in the state capital in the name of stepping up security measures in view of the coming judgement.
SP state president Akhilesh Yadav said, ”There is a nexus between the BSP and the BJP to gain political mileage from the Ayodhya issue and hence, the UP government was raking up the matter.
”Demand for central forces, closoure of all schools, flag marches, setting up of camp jails and checking at the mosques and imambaras were some of the steps taken by the BSP government to create panic among the masses,” he claimed.
Appealing to the people on behalf of party president Mulayam Singh Yadav to maintain communal harmony, Akhilesh said the SP will accept whatever comes out as the judgement.
Criticising the BSP government for trying to divert the attention of the people from the burning issues by highlighting the Ayodhya matter, the UP state president said, ”Failure of the Mayawati government during its over three years’ rule in the state was forcing them to create a communal tension in the state.
” Day to day statement by the UP government on the security aspect has confused the people and a panic-like situation prevails in the state while the prices of essential commodities were also rising due to hording,” he added.
