Hyderabad, June 03: The government has proposed to build a suspension bridge across the Secret Lake (Durgam Cheruvu) in Jubilee Hills.
The bridge is yet another attraction in addition to the proposed ropeway.
The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Thursday agreed to sanction Rs 40 crore for the bridge, which is likely to become a major tourist attraction.
The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation proposed the bridge, which is designed to reduce the traffic congestion on the Jubilee Hills and Madhapur roads.
A new road will be laid directly to Gachibowli connecting through the suspension bridge.
The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation has been asked to improve the connectivity to Hitec City and infrastructure in Madhapur, Gachibowli and Nanakramguda at a cost of Rs 100 crore.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also directed the authorities to identify land in city and also in Visakhapatnam to hand it over to the Centre for setting up Indian Institute of Management.
The major industries minister, Dr J. Geeta Reddy, said the Chief Minister, who reviewed the functioning of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, set a target of attracting Rs 1lakh crore investments in the current year.
