BJP national executive member Perala Shekhar Rao today demanded that the government order a CBI inquiry into the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam affairs as its chief priest Ramana Dikshitulu levelled severe charges.
Speaking to the media at State party office here today, Shekhar Rao said severe allegations were made by Ramana Dikshtulu throwing doubts about the security and protection of valuable jewellery of Lord Balaji. He said devotees of Lord Venkateshwara were expressing apprehensions about the serious charges raised by the chief priest and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu should recommend a CBI inquiry to clear the doubts among the devotees.
Stating that the clarification given by the TTD executive officer was not satisfactory, the BJP leader demanded that the government order a CBI inquiry so that the CBI could look into various issues, including whether jewellery of Lord Venkateshwara are secure and intact, any diamonds are missing, details of properties of the temple in and outside the country, is there any violation of agama shashtra norms, misuse of Lord’s hundi.
He also wondered as to why JEO Srinivas Raju and Dollar Sheshadri were continuing in the jobs in spite of grave allegations made against them. (NSS)
