BJP MLA office set on fire

Bahraich (UP), April 23: Camp office of a BJP MLA was set on fire by some unidentified persons in Fatehpura area here, police said today.

Some unidentified persons lobbed bottles filled with petrol and set the camp office of Mahsi MLA Sureshwar Singh on fire last night though no one has been injured in the incident, police said.

The MLA, who was receiving threat mails and his properties damaged, has charged the district administration with not taking these incidents seriously.

“I have also returned the security granted to me”, he said, adding that police would be held responsible in case of any untoward incident happens.

Meanwhile, District Magistrate Rigjain Saimphil and Superintendent of Police Ram Bharose, who inspected the camp office, said that the guilty would be arrested soon.

On April 5, unidentified miscreants had indulged in arson at Singh’s residence in which his brother was seriously injured.
