BJP Telangana State unit Mahila Morcha today organized “Tiranga yatra” in Secunderabad parliamentary constituency under the leadership of Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya which he represents.
The “Tiranga Yatra” was taken from Vivekananda statue to the Ambedkar statue at Tank bund with thousands of women from all walks of life, including NSS volunteers, participating. Holding national flags and raising slogans, women portrayed patriotism while police band singing Sare Jahan Se Acha tune and walked in the front. A special jeep adorned with portraits of Bharath Matha, Jhansi Laxmi Bai followed.
Before flagging off the yatra, Dattatraya congratulated the organizers for an impressive rally and reminded them about women’s uplift schemes” –Beti Bachao, Beti Padao — initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is a great thing that women are in the forefront on the national path reflected by P.V. Sindhu, Sakshi Malik, Padma Deepankar, in the recent Olympics, he added.
The Tiranga Yatra culminated at Ambedkar statue where Dattatraya, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy MLA, Perala Chandrashekar Rao, vice- chairman, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghatan, B. Venkat Reddy BJP City unit president, Nirmala Gonela, Retd IAS, Chaya Devi, Ketineni Sarala, Uppala Sarada, Aruna Jyothi, Bandari Radhika, Amrutha and others garlanded Dr Ambedkar statue and paid homage.
In the Yatra, Tripuraneni Venkataratnam, chairperson, State Women’s Commission, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, Sana, cine actress and Brahma Kumaris participated in the rally. (NSS)
