Hyderabad, March 02: Demanding roll back of petroleum products prices hiked by the UPA Government, BJP today said about 10 lakh party workers would seige parliament on April 21, protesting against spiralling prices of essential commodities in the country. “The party would organise a historic rally at Delhi on April 21 against the price rise in which 10 lakh party activists across the country would participate to seige the Parliament,’’ BJP national official spokesperson Prakash Javdekar told reporters here.
On the issue of price rise of petrol and diesel, 300 out of the 542 MPs have opposed the move of the UPA Government in the Parliament, Javadekar claimed.
The BJP would also move a `cut motion’ in the House on prise rise issue, he said.
The BJP leader further demanded the Centre to provide subsidy on commodities supplied through the Public Distribution System i.e. 20 kg rice, 10 kg wheat, five litres edible oil, five kilograms each of sugar and pulses to each family in the country. A representation would also be submitted to the President for necessary action against the Manmohan Singh Government, he said.
BJP State president B Dattatreya and former Union minister and senior party leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao were also present at the press meet.
