BJP hold demo against troops withdrawal from JK

Srinagar, December 19: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP today held a demonstration in the city against the Centre’s decision of withdrawing 30,000 troops from the state.

Led by its state president Ashok Khajuria, BJP activists carrying banners “do not withdraw troops”, took out a rally from party headquarters at Kachi Chawani to City Chowk area.

Some of the activists had a minor scuffle with police when it tried to stop the rally. However, no one was injured, officials said.

Addressing the protesters at City Chowk, Khajuria said Defence Minister A K Antony’s announcement of withdrawing nearly 30,000 troops from the state is a step towards conceding to the wishes of separatists in the valley.
