BJP demands State to initiate welfare steps for scribes

Telangana BJP president Dr K Laxman said his party would mount pressure on the State government to press for the welfare measures to the journalists, who had played vital role during Telangana agitation.

Speaking at function after releasing the “TJU-2018 Diary in the Press Club at Somajiguda, he said Chief minister has KCR forgotten his promises that he had given to them during the agitation time who had rendered their best in taking the moment forward.

Dr. Laxman said that even after reality of separate Telangana state, the problems being faced by Journalists have not been resolved. He said that KCR had promised separate Press Club building in Warangal and convert the Press Club building in Hyderabad in multi-storied building. He was critical of the KCR for virtually deceiving the journalists.

He said journalists work under pressure and are facing health problems. He said the state government has miserably failed in providing medical aid to the journalists and demanded that irrespective of the size accreditation cards have to be issued. He also demanded the journalists have to be provided double bedroom houses.

He lauded the TJU that they are working with utmost commitment prompted by late journalist Shoibullah Khan, who laid down his life fighting the Nizam with his writings as their guide. He was critical of the government that even after separate Telangana state also, the fate of the journalists is such that they are forced to fight for their rights. He said he will raise the issue in the Assembly and question the government, and assured that BJP is committed for the welfare of journalists.

He was also critical of the TRS government that it is our ill-fate that the it has alliance with the party which had back-stabbed the separate Telangana agitation and those committedly fought are kept away.
