Set up AIIMS in Telangana: Lakshma reddy urges JP Nadda

Telangana Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today urged the Centre to take steps to set up AIIMS in the state and provide necessary funding.
He called on Union Health Minister JP Nadda and appealed him to take a decision on the pending issue of setting up All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Telangana. He also sought the union minister to provide funds to set up new medical colleges in Mahabubnagar, Sidhipet, Nalgonda and Suryapet districts.

Later talking to reporters he said that he urged the Center for immediate steps on AIIMS and funding for new medical colleges. He stressed the need for food safety and implement its act in a perfect manner in the state. The minister attended a meeting chaired by Nadda on food safety. He expressed concern that the people are confused on food contamination and food security and safety. There is a need for nation-wide campaign on food security, safety and steps. Reddy expressed displeasure at some traders for duping people with fake food items. The people can remain healthy by taking timely precautions he said. We have modernized the government hospitals with all equipment and facilities he said. Telangana Government focus is better health and hygiene and surroundings he added.
