New Delhi, October 23: In the wake of CBI raids on offices of Telecom Minister A Raja, BJP today said the spectrum allocation scam ran into thousands of crores of rupees and demanded immediate sacking of the minister and a fair inquiry into the matter.
“The spectrum allocation scam runs into thousands of crores of rupees. This is the first time that the CBI has raided the offices of a minister. There is no reason — moral, ethical or political — for him to continue as Communications Minister,” BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
He said the BJP demands that Raja should be sacked forthwith by the Prime Minister and CBI should be given a free hand in the investigations.
Prasad maintained that the spectrum allocation anomalies had figured in the Parliament debates as well as in the media during the past few months.
