Hyderabad: Telangana BJP today urged the State chief election officer to take action against “Namaste Telangana” newspaper for violating model code of conduct by publishing an article.
In a memorandum submitted to the CEO, the party said the newspaper has published a news item in support of the ruling party and the same needs to be considered as a paid article and to be accounted to the expenditure of the TRS party. The BJP said that under the guise of news-items, the newspaper was indirectly canvassing in favour of the ruling party and all such news items are to be considered as paid articles.
Party senior leader and national executive member N Indrasen Reddy, accompanied by parliamentary party secretary K Balasubrahmanyam submitted the memorandum to the CEO.
