BJP accuses KCR of cheating people on Telangana issue

Bharatiya Janata Party state president G Kishan Reddy on Friday accused Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao of cheating the people of the region on Telangana statehood by claiming that Congress president Sonia Gandhi would announce her decision within three months.

Addressing an election rally at Geesukonda mandal in Parakala Assembly constituency for party candidate Vijayachander Reddy, the BJP president questioned as to how Sonia Gandhi would announce a favourable decision on the statehood issue when Union Home Minister P Chidambaram clearly hinted that the Telangana was not possible. Slamming KCR for not raising the Telangana State issue in the Parliament, he said that the BJP would pass Telangana resolution if it comes to power in 2014 elections.

Stating that Telangana state formation was not possible with the TRS alone, he called upon the people to vote for BJP as the TDP and YSR Congress would have no powers to bifurcate the State.

Kishan Reddy said that former Congress MLA Konda Surekha did not resign for the cause of Telangana, he said that the Speaker disqualified Konda Surekha for supporting the No Confidence Motion against the government. (INN)
