Hyderabad is going to host U.N.O’s Bio-diversity International Conference which begins tomorrow.
As part of the conference, a session on Cartagena protocol on Bio-diversity will be held and after that the meeting of the partners on Biological Diversity will starts which will be held from 1st to 5th October.
The convention on Bio-diversity will be held between 8th and 19th October in which some heads of the state including Dr. Manmohan Singh will participate. About 2000 delegates representing 150 countries would participate in this conference. Discussions will be held on various aspects of latest technology on Biodiversity. It is expected that the Summit on the center for life will also be held during this conference in which representatives of 300 cities, mayors and governors would participate. In addition to these delegates, various agencies of UNO, national and international organizations and governmental representatives will participate. It may be noted that Cartagena protocol Bio safety was accepted on 29th January 200 and it has been implemented with effect from 11th September 2003. The topics which may come up for discussion include bio safety clearing house, economic mechanism and resources etc. Risk management and assessment and its financial implications will also be discussed.
