Patna: Reports are rushing in from Bihar’s Begusarai district, where nearly four people were killed while severely injuring several others in a stampede during the Kartik puja celebrations.
The incident is reported to occur during the occasion of Kartik Purnima at a major bathing spot Simaria ghat where thousands of pilgrims gather for the holy dip.

According to district police officials, the cause behind the stampede was after rumours spread.
Another report states the huge gathering at the ghat for bathing the cause of the stampede.
Bihar CM has expressed his grief on the following incident and also announced a compensation of Rs. 4 lakh for each life lost in the stampede.
The authorities have confirmed three women were killed in the stampede and the the bodies are yet to be identified.
All the injured persons have been rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
