Bhopal: An FIR was registered on Wednesday against Congress Corporator Mohammed Saghir on the basis of a complaint filed by a woman accusing him of rape.
The police has registered the case against the leader under the Section 376 (2) (n) (Punishment for sexual assault), Section 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and Section 116 (Punishment for abetment of offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
In the FIR, the woman has alleged that Saghir raped her in a park near Kohefiza in Bhopal in March 2016.
Further investigation is underway.
