Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today asked the officials concerned to put in persistent efforts for speedy completion of the projects.
Harish Rao held a high-level review meeting with chief engineers at his chambers and launched a calendar of Irrigation department here. Speaking on the occasion, he claimed that the State government achieved good results in the irrigation sector in just two and a half years. “This is high time that the officials should work efficiently with active coordination with other wings for timely completion of the projects”, he stated.
“We have to strive to achieve the targets of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on irrigation projects and the State government was committed to the completion of Palamur, Ranga Reddy and Dindi projects besides completing others in the districts. Drought situation in Khammam district will not continue on completion of Sitarama project”, he said and asked the officials to replicate Madhya Pradesh model of distribution of waters on tail to head process to distributaries and minor canals to achieve better results. The same process is being implemented at Peddapally district under a distributory, he added.
