Bengaluru: Ola Driver masturbates in front of passenger on board

Bengaluru: Various shameful molestation incidents by rental cab services have been reported in the past, with recent one reported on Sunday afternoon from Bengaluru, where an Ola cab driver had allegedly masturbated in front of a 23-year-old woman passenger after activating the child-lock.

The Ola cab driver had also threatened the passenger against complaining saying that Ola firm doesn’t pay heed to such complaints.’

Speaking on the incident with IBT Times, Ola spokesperson said: “We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had during their ride. We have zero tolerance to such incidents and the driver has been suspended from the platform as an immediate action upon receiving the complaint. We have also urged the customer to lodge a formal complaint with the authorities. Safety of customers is our priority and we will continue to extend our full support to this investigation against the said driver.”

Now this is not the first time the incident has been reported against the rental cab drivers harassing and molesting their passengers on board. A similar disgusting shameful incident was reported from Hyderabad where the 26-year-old Uber driver was arrested after the woman passenger on board filed a complaint against the driver.

The woman passenger who was shocked says it was only after she continued shouting for help that the Uber driver stopped. She said: “I shouted and asked him to stop the car – -unfazed, and continuing his act, he very nonchalantly asked me what was wrong. After much screaming, he reluctantly stopped the car, and continued standing on the road until I took a picture of him and threatened to go to the cops.”

Another shocking incident was reported in September where an Ola cab driver allegedly assaulted a businessman with iron rod near CV Raman Road.

The driver has reportedly turned abusive and violent after an argument with the passenger on board. The driver identified as Syed Asif is absconding since then.

Now is the high time the firm owners take stringent actions against the perpetrators since this issue has now become a cause of concern and safety of passengers.
