Hyderabad: After getting thumping majority in GHMC elections, there was curiosity about the nomination of the posts of Mayor and Dy. Mayor.
Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao finalized the name of Baba Fasihuddin, corporator of Borabanda for the post of Dy. Mayor. A meeting of the newly elected corporators of GHMC is being held at 8:00 a.m. today at Telangana Bhavan. Dy. CM of Telangana Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Home Minister, Mr. N. Narasimha Reddy and Municipal Administration Minister, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao will attend this meeting. The names of Mayor and Dy. Mayor would be formally proposed in this meeting. The name of Baba Fasihuddin would be proposed as Dy. Mayor. After this a meeting of the corporators will be held at the office of GHMC at 11:00 a.m. today. In the presence of Commissioner of GHMC and other officials, the election of Mayor and Dy. Mayor would be held.
It may be mentioned that Baba Fasihuddin has been an active member of Telangana Rashtriya Vidyarti Sangam and he actively participated in Telangana movement. He mobilized youth force to muster support for Telangana Movement. He holds a great influence in student community.
It is reported that Baba Fasihuddin enjoys the confidence of Panchayati Raj and IT Minister, Mr. KT Rama Rao.
