Ayodhya petitioner moves SC

New Delhi, September 22: Ramesh Chandra Tripathi, whose petition for deferring the judgement in Ayodhya Babri Masjid land dispute case was dismissed by the Allahabad High Court with a fine of Rs 50,000, today moved the Supreme Court against the High Court judgement.

Mr Tripathi, in his petition which is likely to be mentioned for urgent hearing before the apex court today, has contended that the court verdict may lead to serious law and order problem and may also disturb the communal harmony in the country, particularly in UP.

The petitioner has prayed to the apex court to direct the High Court not to pronounce its judgement till the final disposal of his petition and also urged the apex court to set aside the imugned High Court order under which his application was dismissed with a cost of Rs 50,000.]

Two Judges of the High Court, Justices S U Khan and Sudhir Agrawal, had dismissed Mr Tripathi’s petition in the six-decade-old Babri Masjid land dispute.
