Hyderabad, January 09: Arguing that the telecasting of news by some TV channels yesterday on the alleged role of Ambani brothers in the helicopter crash, in which the then chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy died, was not based on facts, Opposition Leader N Chandrababu Naidu today demanded action against all the persons who were involved in `planting’ the story.
Speaking to reporters here today, Naidu doubted whether the attacks were a ploy to change the chief minister in the State. He also demanded action against those who attacked Reliance outlets after the telecast.
Naidu said that the CBI probe into the death of Rajasekhara Reddy should be expedited. He suggested that the CBI also probe into the role of those behind the false stories and those responsible for the attacks on the Reliance outlets.
“When Congressmen were creating anarchy why is the Congress high command not taking any action?’’ Naidu expressed doubts that whether yesterday’s attacks were intended to see one person as chief minister or show one’s dissidence within the Congress party. Naidu objected to the `apathy’ of the chief minister to taking action against the `antisocial’ elements that proved that `jungle raj’ prevailed in the State.
Naidu alleged that SMSes were sent across the State in the name of `YS Yuvasena’ at 4.55 pm yesterday asking people to observe a State bandh on Jan 9.
“It indicates that it was a premeditated plan by some `anti-social’ elements. Some persons called up people and wanted to observe bandh yesterday. It all establishes that the yesterday’s attacks were not made out of emotion but were pre-meditated.’’ Asked whether the stories were run on TV to divert public attention from the Telangana agitation, Naidu said that the police and CBI should establish the motive behind the spread of such stories.
