Mumbai, March 03: South siren Asin Thottumkal runs a school for the underprivileged and orphans in Kerala, the state she hails from. The school provides education to nearly a 100 children.
While the actress has never talked about it, her do-gooder side became known when she invited a few of her co-stars to come to the school and interact with the children.
The Ghajini girl keeps aside approximately 10-20 per cent of her earnings to support these children with education and health care. This school comes after her initiative last year when she funded a talented child and agreed to pay for his education right up to his college, thereby shaping his future.
The actress is currently in Bangkok shooting with Salman Khan for Ready, and was unavailable for a comment. However, her father, Joseph Thottumkal, confirms the news but chooses not to go into details, “I don’t know how far she wants to disclose.” A source informs that the actress intends to set up more schools across the state, “She wants to make as many needy children as possible stand up on their feet and earn their living.”
