APPSC gears up Group-II exams from Oct 15

Hyderabad, October 12: Ignoring the pleas of pro-Telangana parties and leaders, the State Government has decided to go ahead with the conduct of Group-II examinations to be held on October 15 and 16.

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission has made elaborate arrangements for the examination to be conducted at 1064 centres across the State. As many as 4.54 lakh candidates are likely to appear for the examination.

For the first time, the candidates will be able to get a copy of the answer sheet. The OMR sheet will have carbon paper and the students will be allowed to take the carbon copy along with them after writing the examination. The candidates have been asked to write the exam with blue or black ball point pen.

In view of Sakala Janula Samme, the general strike, special arrangements would be made to ferry students from different places to the examination centres.

The State Police had earlier announced that it would be making elaborate security arrangements at the examination centres in view of boycott call given by Telangana students’ organisation and parties.

It may mentioned that the APPSC has successfully conducted the Group-I (Finals) examination last month despite opposition from the Telangana parties. Therefore, it was confident that the Group-II examinations too would be conducted smoothly. (INN)
