Apple retail VP Angela Ahrendts steps down after five years

California: Apple’s senior retail VP Angela Ahrendts is resigning from her role after five years for new personal and professional pursuits.

On its official blog, Apple announced that Ahrendts is planning her departure in April and she will be succeeded by Deirdre O’Brien who will take on new responsibilities as senior vice president of Retail + People.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said that Ahrendts had been a positive and transformative force for Apple stores. Ahrendts had been instrumental in making Apple’s stores as community spaces where new experiences in the form of creative workshops and displays were organised.

In her statement, Ahrendts said that her term at the company had been the most stimulating, challenging and fulfilling of her career. She added that there was no better time to pass the baton to Deirdre.
