While Telangana State celebrated its second formation day today, Andhra Pradesh government celebrated the day as “Nava Nirman” Day.
Participating Nava Nirman diksha at Benji circle in Vijayawada, AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said if a state was carved out, the people celebrate the day with enthusiasm in a festival atmosphere. But we are celebrating the day as Nava Nirmana Diksha Day, he expressed concern. “We never expected and never thought in the dream about the bifurcation of the State. The State was put to a great injustice”, Naidu said. People of all walks gathered at the circle in a large number on an appeal by the Chief Minister. Naidu said June 2 was Independence Day for Italy. “But that day was unfortunate day for us as on that day the State was separated. It was Independent day for Italy, but for us it was bifurcation day, he lamented.
Urging people to cooperate in development of newly created Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu said the Centre should extend help till the State achieved allround development. “Every year we will celebrate Nava Nirman Diksha Dday for the injustice meted out to us”, he said adding that Maha Sankalp meeting would be organized on June 8.
AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Shivaprasada Rao, Chief Secretary Takkar, State minister Devineni Uma Maheshwar Rao, Kamineni Srinivas, Kollu Ravindra and others attended the program. (NSS)
