Hyderabad, September 18: Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge C V Nagarjuna Reddy remained firm on his resignation for the second day today though Chief Justice Nissar Ahmed Kakru persuaded his anguished colleague to reconsider his decision.
Justice Reddy submitted his resignation to the Chief Justice on Thursday night expressing “anguish” over the vandalism carried out by lawyers of Telangana region in the High Court for three days in a row.
The agitating lawyers, demanding 42 per cent quota in law officers’ posts for Telangana, allegedly damaged furniture and disrupted proceedings in the court hall of Justice Reddy three days ago. The advocates also allegedly abused the Judge and threw placards at him.
The Chief Justice held talks with Justice Reddy again today and reportedly tried to prevail upon him to withdraw the resignation.
