K Vijayanand, CMD of APTRANSCO has said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has issued clear cut instructions to the power utilities to avail technology driven mechanisms which will facilitate to review the daily progress of infrastructure projects in the areas of engineering, procurement and construction for expediting various power projects in the state.
While hoisting national flag at Vidyut Soudha on the occasion of 67th republic day, Vijayanand said the APGENCO is contemplating to add 11,210 MW at an estimate cost of Rs.64,182 Crores in the next 10 years in a time bound manner to meet the future power demand. This will result in overall development of important sectors such as agriculture, industry and infrastructure and eventually increase the economy.
With the effective implementation of 24X7 “Power For All” scheme, under the able guidance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the state has achieved self sufficiency in meeting energy demand, he said adding that the quality of life has improved considerably and the image of the power sector also enhanced as well
AP State Govt. is determined to promote Renewable Energy / Green Energy (Solar & Wind) in a big way, Three Solar Parks with an aggregate capacity of 3500 MW are being implemented in the State. The present installed capacity of Solar Power projects is 150 MW and the expected capacity addition is 5000 MW during the next 4 years. The Feasibility for evacuation on existing & proposed network has already given for a capacity of around 3000MW. Expected capacity addition of wind projects during the 12th plan is 5258 MW.
Under the wind power transmission scheme for evacuation of 3150MW under Green energy corridor, which covers 3Nos 400kV Substations, 8Nos 220KV Substations, 555Km of 400KV lines, 571km of 220kV lines, the 1st phase of works for evacuation of 2000MW at a cost of Rs.2085.41Crs (REC funding) are expected to be completed by March 2016. We are already in a leading position in the country in energy front & let us all strive much harder to maintain World class standards by competing with advanced Countries as per the wish of our Chief Minister he said. On this occasion he has appealed to all the Engineers & other employees of power utilities that all of us shall take a pledge to complete all the planned & scheduled projects in time duly ensuring quality power supply to the consumers.
