6 injured in acid attack over construction of road

Araria: Six persons including two women were injured allegedly in an acid attack during a clash between two groups over a dispute on construction of a road in Fatehpur panchayat of Bihar’s Araria district, police said today. The groups clashed over the construction of the road as the land one group claimed to be its.

Two women out of six – Gita Devi and Anandi Rishideo – have been badly burnt in the acid attack, the OC said. The injured women have been referred to Purnia Sadar hospital, while four others have been admitted to Farbesganj hospital, Kumar said.

On the basis of a complaint by the victim Anandi, an FIR has been lodged with the Narpatganj, the OC said, adding investigation was on. Five persons have been arrested so far in this connection, Kumar said.
