Hyderabad, February 17: Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan today addressed the Joint Session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature amid pandemonium and chaos from the Telangana Telugu Desam Party and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislators.
As soon as Mr Narasimhan entered the Old Assembly Building to address the Joint Sitting of the Assembly and Council Members on the opening day of the Budget Session, the members from both the parties raised slogans against him.
They later rushed to the podium and tried to snatch the speech text from the Governor’s hands even as Assembly Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar and Council Chairman A Chakrapani were besides the Governor.
The legislators then tore the speech copies and flung them at the Governor.
The Telangana TDP legislators, particularly, climbed on the podium even as the TRS legislators forcibly removed the mike of the Governor while he was addressing.
Not dettered by the protests,the Governor continued the speech with the help of his staff who held the mike.
At this stage, following a directive of Deputy Speaker, the Marshals entered the Legislature and physically removed the agitating members from the House.
