Hyderabad, June 29: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy reportedly briefed Governor E S L Narasimhan about government?s action against the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust in the wake of certain allegations about financial irregularities.
The Chief Minister, after paying floral tributes to former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao at the PV Ghat on the Necklace Road here on the occasion of Rao’s 91st birth anniversary today, headed to the Raj Bhavan for an unscheduled meeting with the Governor, official sources said.
Kiran reportedly informed the Governor about the letter written by the government to the Trust secretary, seeking every detail related to its functioning and the financial transactions.
The Chief Minister also reportedly discussed the appointment of the new Director General of Police for the state as the present one is slated to retire from service on June 30.
The controversy over the conduct of a written examination for the selection of police sub-inspectors in August, which is being opposed by Telangana protagonists, also came up for discussion between the Governor and the Chief Minister, sources said.
