Anusha case: wants death for killer

Hyderabad, February 01:Advocates from both sides in the Ms Anusha case intend to appeal the verdict in the High Court, with Mr P. Purushottam, who represented the prosecution, seeking the death penalty. Rajesh’s advocate, Mr T. Veerendra, claimed there were several lapses in the investigation and maintained that Rajesh was innocent.

Ms Anusha, who discontinued her Intermediate education after the incident, has joined a junior college to continue her education; she is doing her Intermediate first year along with her sister, Ms Prasanna. They are being financially supported by the trust set up by actor Murali Mohan.

Their youngest sister, Nanidini, is in Class VI in a school being supported by the trust set up by the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Ms Anusha and her sisters stay with their maternal aunt at a rented house in Rajahmundry.

Rajesh’s family shifted to Kovvur in West Godavari after the murder. His parents are ailing and did not attend court, but his brother was waiting outside.

A large number of people and the family members of Ms Anusha and Rajesh were present at the court. The district autorickshaw drivers union president, Mr Vasamsetti Gangadhar, led a rally of three-wheelers to express solidarity with Ms Anusha and her sisters.
