Ansari convenes BAC meeting to discuss 11 subjects

New Delhi, November 19: Anticipating heat on various issues, Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari today called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) which decided that House discuss the subjects of sugarcane, price rise and disinvestment in the first seven sittings of the Winter session.

After the Lok Sabha was plunged into pandemonium on the sugarcane pricing policy on the opening day today, Ansari convened the meeting which identified 11 subjects for discussion either through Short Duration Discussion or Calling Attention, sources said. The subjects were finalised at the meeting, they said.

Internal Security, price rise, corruption, international situation and agricultural issues would be taken up through Short Duration discussion.

Climate change, commonwealth games, WTO talks, disinvestment, Sri Lankan Tamils and sugarcane would be discussed through calling attention, they said.
