Kota: A 17-year-old student of a private coaching centre here allegedly hanged himself to death on Wednesday over mounting study pressure, in a fourth such case reported from the city this month.
The body of Vikas Meena, a class 10th student was found hanging from the ceiling of his rented hostel room in Talwandi area under Jawaharnagar police station here today, Arvind Megh, Sub-inspector Jawaharnagar police station said.
The boy had left behind a two-and-a-half page suicide note alleging that he was taking the extreme step due to study pressure as well as the separation from family, he said.
“I have not been able to do well in my studies. They have become very tough for me. I am also unable to bear the separation from my family members,” the note read.
The police said that the boy had ringed his grandfather last night before committing the crime.
However, when the elderly reached the hostel to meet the boy today, his body was found, they said.
Meena, a native of Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, was taking coaching for 10th class and entrance exams at Resonance Coaching Institute here, police said.
The body has been sent for postmortem, Megh said.
A case has been registered under section 174 of CrPC and the investigation is underway in the matter, he said.
This is the fourth suicide death of entrance students in the city this month.
