Vijayawada, July 09: Telugu Desam Party(TDP) politbureau member K Yerram Naidu here today felt that there was no need for Home Minister P Chidambaram to convene an all party meeting to resolve the separate Telangana statehood issue.
Addressing a press conference along with another senior party leader and MP Mysoora Reddy, here today, he said all political parties in the state had already expressed their views to the Centre earlier and there was no need to convene the meeting again to seek their opinions.
” The Sri Krishna Committee had visited several places in the three regions and heard the views and arguments of the people. The Committee submitted its report to the Centre”, he recalled and demanded the Centre to follow the recommendations to resolve the T-issue.
Mr Yerram Naidu said a majority of the people wanted an ”undivided” Andhra Pradesh and in a democratic country, the sentiments and views of the people should be respected and taken into confidence.
”I do not think that separate Telangana state should be formed” the senior TDP leaders averred.
He demanded Y S R Congress Party President and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to announce at the on going party’s plenary, with which party he would ”align” in the state.
He alleged that the YSR Congress party’s manifesto, released in the plenary is a ”copy” of TDP manifesto.
Criticizing Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy for the role the latter was playing in the T-issue, Rajya Sabha member Mysoora Reddy held him ”responsible” for the turbulent situation in the region.
”As a Union Minister he has the responsibility of resolving the T-issue”, he said and warned that the issue would be further ”precipitated”, unless it is solved at the earliest.
