Announce national policy on the issue: Bangaru

Nalgonda,October 13: Former Bharatiya Janata Party national president Bangaru Lakshman has demanded the Central Government to announce Maoists’ problem as a national issue. He visited Nalgonda today to participate in a debate against recognising dalit Christians as Scheduled Castes.

Addressing a press conference on the occasion he said: “As states are not equipped to deal with the problem, Central Government must chip in and announce a national policy with expert advice.’’ Maintaining that human error was involved in the recent flood havoc, he alleged that Government failed to help flood victims effectively and demanded an inquiry into the issue. “Ten-year development was washed away in the floods,’’ he lamented.

Disaster Management Board in Bangalore
can’t cater to the entire South India and the Government needs to set up more such centres in the South to tackle calamities like this, he observed.

Suggesting the Government to take up relief programmes in timebound manner, he flayed that restoration of sanitation is yet to be completed though it has been 11 days since the task begun.

After the press meet, he participated in a debate against provision of SC reservation to dalit Christians.

State Dalit Morcha president Chintha Sambamurty, District BJP president Goli Madhusudan Reddy, Veerelly Chandrasekhar, Voruganti Ramulu, Chintha Mutyala Rao and others were present.
