Rehabilitation of Andhra flood victims on in full swing

Hyderabad, October 13: About two lakh flood-affected people are taking shelter in 156 relief camps being organised by the Andhra Pradesh Government and efforts to rehabilitate the victims is on in full swing, officials said today.

“Relief operations are going on at a brisk pace and they will come to an end in another few days. Payment of ex-gratia as per government norms is starting today,” they said.

Asked about complaints regarding organising the relief work, officials asserted that a good job has been done in the relief operations and complaints from the victims were understandable and not totally avoidable.

Meanwhile, the government’s relief and rehabilitation efforts came under sharp criticism from TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Praja Rajyam leader Chiranjeevi and other Opposition parties.
