Andhra: KCR trying every trick to unsettle Kiran

Hyderabad, January 31: What is Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K Chandrasekhara Rao up to? As chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy begins finding his feet, the TRS president appears determined to thwart him.

The chief minister is touring the state, including Telangana districts, ignoring the call for disruption by the Telangana Joint Action Committee.

According to sources, the TRS chief fears that if Kiran Kumar Reddy settles down in his job, he might generate a sense of self-confidence in Telangana ministers and MLAs to face the TRS, in which scenario the TRS will be the loser.

Already, the Telangana ministers and MLAs have stopped worrying too much about KCR’s provocative words. Earlier, they were afraid of uttering a word against KCR fearing that any such talk might be misconstrued as anti-Telangana.

But now ministers are gathering their wits and are trying to call KCR’s bluff. G Mukesh Goud and Danam Nagender had warned KCR of a siege to the Telangana Bhavan if he did not stop activists from attacking ministers and and disrupting Rachabanda programmes.

The TRS’ game-plan has been to shatter the morale of Congress leaders and thus retain its upper hand in the region. Now that the strategy is beginning to boomerang, the TRS is seized of devising another strategy to keep the Congress at the receiving end.

KCR reportedly discussed various strategies that are up his sleeve with his son KT Rama Rao and daughter Kavita at his residence this afternoon where it had been agreed to keep the heat on the Congress, by projecting its leaders as betrayers of Telangana if they do not resign.

At the same time, there will be more focus on engineering defections from the Congress and the TDP into the TRS so that the party will emerge stronger even in districts where it is weak.

The TRS chief reportedly noted with satisfaction that the call for agitations by the TJAC across the Telangana belt had yielded the desired results. He wants the TRS to emerge as a major force in the districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahaboobnagar, Nalgonda and Adilabad.

“Our leader wants the TRS to dominate the entire Telangana.

He wants it to evolve into such a force that no one would dare to ignore it at the time of taking any decision on the region’s future,” a party leader said after the meeting.
