Andhra BJP criticises adjournment of state assembly

Hyderabad, December 14: BJP Andhra Pradesh unit today criticised the state government’s decision to adjourn the assembly sine-die without discussing the situation prevailing in the state.

Expressing concern over the situation which has arisen in the state after Centre’s announcement on Telangana issue recently, BJP state president and former union minister Bandaru Dattatreya said “it was unfortunate that the assembly was adjourned indefinitely without giving an opportunity to discuss the volatile situation in the state.”

Besides divisions in the ministers and legislatures of the ruling party, both executive and legislative function has been derailed which was not good for democracy, Dattatreya observed.

While executive was expressing its helplessness, the legislative assembly has not discussed burning issues like farmer’s problem, students scholarships and law and order, the BJP leader said.
