Bhopal, January 05: (Pervez Bari) Two dozen students of different Universities of the United States of America visited the Aligarh Muslim University, (AMU), Aligarh and met the Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis at his residence.
According to Dr. Rahat Abrar, AMU’s Public Relations Officer, the American students visited the heritage buildings of the University and paid tribute to the founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. The visiting team also interacted with the students and staff of the Department of Urdu and English at Arts Faculty lounge.
In his presidential remarks in the Inter-active Meet Prof. A. R. Kidwai, Director of Academic Staff College said that AMU is not a degree awarding institution but a centre of socio-cultural advancement of Muslims of India.
On this occasion Prof. Khursheed Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Urdu and Prof. Abul Kalam Qasmi, former Dean, Faculty of Arts also addressed the function. (pervezbari@eth.net)
