Amar Singh to be grilled by Crime Branch

New Delhi, July 22: The Delhi Police Crime Branch will question Rajya Sabha MP nad former Samajwadi veteran Amar Singh in connection with the notorious cash-for-vote scam. The police have already arrested two people regarding the case.

The police may also call Samajwadi Party MP Reoti Raman Singh and BJP MP Ashok Argal to know more on the payment of bribe to secure vote of BJP MPs to save the UPA-1 government during the confidence vote on July 22, 2008.

Yet another person who is likely to be quizzed is Sudheendra Kulkarni, BJP leader L K Advani’s former aide, who allegedly was behind the sting operation to trap the bribe-givers.

The grilling of Amar Singh will take place in the backdrop of his former aide Sanjiv Saxena and alleged middleman Sohail Hindustani reportedly informing the police that the former SP leader asked them to pay Rs 1 crore to the BJP MPs.
