Alleged serial burglar arrested by Bengaluru cops,Rs 45 lakh recovered

Bengaluru: 33- year-old Manjunatha alias Kommaghatta Manja, a resident of Kommaghatta in Kenger was arreted by the Hanumanthanagar police on burglary charges.

Kommaghatta Manja and his gang burgled 45-50 houses till date in 10-15 police limits they are charged with nearly 30 cases.

The police ransacked Manja’s gang and also arrested his associates Manikanta alias Malasri, 27, who hails from Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu, and Ganesh Bera alias Ganapathi, 36, a resident of Nagarathpet and also another man, who bought stolen goods.

The cops also discovered stolen valuables of worth Rs 45 lakh. Manja’s gang targeted a house of
Krishnaswamy, a resident of Sheshaganapathi Temple Road on Hanumanthanagar, in February when he and his family had gone for tour to Kerala.

The have stolen 190 gm of gold jewellery. When the burglary was reported to the police. The police, launched a probe and arrested Manja and Manikanta on April 10.

The police said. “They confessed that the other accused, Ganesh, was buying the stolen gold and silver articles from them. On their information, Ganesh was also arrested. Stolen valuables worth around Rs 45 lakh, including 1 kg of gold jewellery, 20 kg of silver articles, cash, foreign currency and a Hyundai i20 car were recovered.”
