Allegations of Rahul torturing Pratyusha baseless, says family

New Delhi: A family member of Rahul Raj, accused of torturing Television actress Pratyusha Banerjee who committed suicide under mysterious circumstances, on Monday said that people levelling allegations against the former should come forwards and produce evidence.
Speaking to media, Raj’s sister rubbished speculations accusing her brother of harassing the late TV actress and said that they believe in judiciary and are sure will get justice.

“Rahul did not torture Partyusha, I would like to say that people who are levelling allegations that Rahul used to manhandle Partyusha I would like to ask them that why did they not stop him, or if they witnessed anything of the sort why did they not stood against it, why are they now not producing any evidences. I will stay people should stop speculating. I have full faith in judiciary, nothing will remain hidden.

We will get justice,” she said.

Former Delhi Commission for Women chief Barkha Shukla Singh yesterday called for stringent police action and investigation in suicide of Pratyusha adding there must be something behind it.

Pratyusha Banerjee, who rose to fame with her portrayal of Anandi in ‘Balika Vadhu,’ was found hanging at her home in Mumbai yesterday.

She was declared dead when brought to the Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri by her former boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.

Though the reason for this drastic step is unknown, there is a buzz that the 24-year-old actress was suffering from heartache over a failed love affair with Rahul. (ANI)
