Hyderabad, November 12: A historic battle is in the offing when India take on New Zealand in the second cricket Test at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here tomorrow.
It will be a special match from the Indian point of view from at least three angles. This will be the first test match to be played in this venue while local star VVS Laxman will also be playing his first Test at home backyard.
Laxman will be buoyed by his fine performance in the first Test, which helped team India to save itself from a very precarious situation. He will again carry heavy responsibilitiy on his shoulders.
However, all eyes will be on batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who is looking for his 50th Test hundred.
Coming close on the heels of the Ahmedabad Test, which saw fortunes fluctuating, tomorrow’s match is likely to see several changes in the game plan.
It was a largely sunny day today, which ensured adequate net practice and brought cheer for the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).
Meanwhile, according to Chandrasekhar, ground’s curator, the wicket on the first three days would be fast while there could be noticeable turn on the last two days.
“I am confident that there be will be a result this time round,” he said.
