Mumbai, May 01: So what if his last two movies were duds? Akshay Kumar still demands an amount that can make any producer’s jaw drop.
Something like this happened with writer Rumi Jaffrey while directing the comedy film ‘Life Partner’. According to some reports, Akshay Kumar was approached to play one of the lead characters and the actor apparently made his dates available for the movie.
But when it came to the acting fee, he quoted a humungous amount that left the producer duo Abbas-Mastan shocked. The producers decided to drop Akki from the project and rather sign Govinda in his place.
Rumi was initially a bit disheartened about this because he always wanted Akshay for the movie. Nevertheless the director is eventually pleased how Govinda has fit into the character of a divorce lawyer and is not disappointed that the pricey Akki is not doing the film.
Well, with such an attitude, Akshay might lose some good projects, even though he has the big budget movies like Kambakkht Ishq and Blue up his sleeve.
