Jaipur, January 23: She might have had her trysts with Indian history, having written works on Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, but French author Catherine Clament says she would still love to write about Emperor Akbar and his inclination towards Sufism.
Clament, who caught India’s attention after penning ‘Edwina and Nehru’, a book chronicling the relationship of India’s first Prime Minister and the wife of India’s last viceroy, says the transformation of Akbar was somehow akin to that of Ashoka and that she would love to capture in a book.
“Before I die, I would like to write about Akbar and his conversion,” Catherine, who is here to attend the fifth edition of the DSC Jaipur Literature Festival told PTI in an interview.
