The All India Muslim Minority Organization has demanded that the Union government immediately implement the recommendations of Justice Ranganatha Mishra Commission and Justice Rajendra Sachar Committee on welfare of Muslims in the country.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, organization chairman Syed Mukhtar Hussain lamented that though the Ranganatha Mishra Commission had submitted its report to the Centre in 2007, it failed to implement the recommendations so far. He demanded that the Centre immediately take steps to provide 10 percent reservation to Muslim minorities in education and employment sectors.
Hussain also demanded that the State government set up a Wakf Board Commissionerate to ensure protection of the Wakf properties. He wanted the State government to resume the Wakf properties, which were allotted to private persons earlier. He also demanded that the State government release a white paper on the ‘Wakf properties’ in the State.
Former secretary of State TDP M.A. Siddiqui has demanded that the State government appoint Minority commission and Minority Finance Corporation chairman to address the grievances of the Muslim minorities in the State. He also demanded that the State government immediately allot adequate funds to Urdu Academy for promotion of Urdu language.
