Advani plea to UPA on Assange’s statement

Hyderabad, April 28: NDA Working Chairman Lal Krishna Advani today appealed to the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre to take seriously Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange’s statement saying there were names of Indians in the Swiss Bank Accounts.

Talking to reporters at Begumpet Airport here, Mr Advani said in 2008 ”I had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh urging the government to pursue the issue of black money stashed abroad by Indians in a manner to get that enormous wealth back to India as has been done by the US and Germany in respect of their own nationals.” The BJP Parliamentary Party Chairman also said the NDA has been pursuing this matter even since and ”we have been of the view that the UPA Government has done nothing in this regard.”
