Somnath, September 25: BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani today urged the Supreme Court to pave the way for the immediate pronouncement of verdict on Ayodhya title suit by the Allahabad High Court instead of deferring it any further.
Addressing mediapersons here at famous Somnath temple complex, from where he launched his now famous Ramjanmabhumi Rath yatra, Mr Advani said ”We respect the order by the Supreme Court but it is a popular feeling that after the wait of almost 60 years, the judgement on the title suit should be delivered.”
”It is the feeling of majority of Hindus that the Ram temple be reconstructed at Ayodhya,” he said.
Advani had taken out his famous rath yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya in 1990. The yatra had commenced on September 25, 1990 and since then Advani has been visiting the temple on its anniversary every year.
He said ”The month of September is very important for me. It has a special place in my life. On September 12, 1947, I left Karachi, Pakistan and came to India after the partition and joined politics thereafter.
When I came to India, I was not good at Hindi. I learnt Hindi after coming to India. I launched Ayodhya rath yatra in September and co-incidently, September 25 is also the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.”
”This day is very special for me. Every year on this day I come here to pay obeissance to Lord Somnath. I have received an overwhelming public support since I launched rath yatra from here on this day,” he said.
